Work started up again, against all recommendations I hasten to add.
We are supposed to wear masks and wipe everything down whenever we move from one area to another. Customers are supposed to wear masks except when sipping a drink.
Yeah. Supposed to. Required to.
My bosses dont care to enforce these rules. ANd I'm sorry but NO NO NO "wearing" your mask is /not/ having it dangling off your face or even just over your mouth. Carrying your shoes is not "wearing" your shoes so stop trying to be cute. WEAR THE DAMN MASK. WE ALL HATE IT. STFU. Fing snowflakes. "But I'm special!"
So Monday I had a bad morning and I saw all the social dietancing rules & mask rules out the window and I.stormed into the union office and let them have it. To which they sighed, took out pens & said, "where was this and when?". And pretty soon my bosses were trying to enforce the rules. Which lent me courage to enforce the rules myself. "Shields up, Scotty!"
A little better. But still. One candle in a dark cave leaves a lot of darkness.
My poor waitress still have to lean in to hear customers orders & place drinks on the tables. They're most at risk no matter what. :/
Now I'm at the laundrymat where 4 women are having a chat while folding. No masks. 3 men are doing laundry. No masks. The attendant who should be enforcing the rules? You guessed it - no mask. This leaves 2 other people besides myself following the rules, wearing our masks & going outside to wait in our cars.
How do people NOT get it?
Are you breathing?
You can get the virus.
You can spread the virus.
Is anyone else breathing?
They can give you the virus.
You can give them the virus.
Do you plan to be within 6 feet of ANYONE anytime in the next 2 weeks? Are you planning on breathing? Are they? Guess what?
Are you planning on /doing anything/ in the next 2 weeks? Because if you show up in somebody else's contact trace list? Canceled. You cant leave your house for 2 weeks.
Over & over & over. Every damn time you enjoy the freedom of leaving your house you gamble that freedom.
I shouldnt be surprised.
What I wonder The Most is this - exactly how many people have to list my workplace on their contact trace list before /somebody/ notifies /somebody/ that there's a problem? Is that info being cross checked by anyone? Who do they notify? Who do those authorities notify? Will the public ever be told? They aint gonna tell the workers.
Inquiring minds, baby. We wanna know.
