Happy Fourth!

Why? Why founding a country?

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

In related news - all this honoring of our military is very nice and respectful. But it is NOT "patriotic". Our love of country is not about our military. It is in what WE tell our military to do. We fight not to conquer but to liberate. We fight not to take for ourselves but to return to others. We do not attack but defend.
We do not have a perfect record on it but these things are what we strive for.
It is not our military we are proud of but our ideals that we share with them. That is American Patriotic.

WE HOLD THESE TRUTHS TO BE SELF EVIDENT. THAT ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL
