"Hell, no! I don't want to elect representatives! I want to do my own voting!" is the declaration I hear from coworkers.
Which is /fine/. I believe in Democracy. Except..
THEY AREN'T GOING TO VOTE. *headdesk*
They're going to scream and stomp but when it comes time to actually physically show up and sit through a meeting and vote "Oh I dont have time for all that!" and "My vote wouldn't change anything. The whole system is rigged." *headdesk*
Le sigh.
Here's another thing. I share important info. You know this. If you see me making an effort on my breaks to talk to people, to interrupt their conversations, going from person to person and group to group -I do not normally do that.
If I am doing that PAY ATTENTION. When all the voting is over and a decision is made I will be pissed at your "I didn't know that's what it was about. No one told me." *headdesk*
I am also one of the /least/ pressure person during my talks. I try to present the issue as neutrally as possible. I just want an informed voter decision. Yay? Nay? Knock yourself out. If you specifically ask for my opinion I will present why I have this position and you are welcome to disagree.
Voting. Eesh.
