Wtf? My tablet autocorrects "waving" to "saving" and i cant convince it otherwise. Computers suck.
Wavi ng my cane.
Here's how my weekend went. I was in a store procrastinating like whoa. Chatting up the clerk cuz we were the only two in there and he's a sci-fi geek like me. The chat turns to skiing. He goes snowboarding because he used to skateboard. "For transportation, not tricks."
"Oh the kids in my neighborhood never learned any tricks. They'd just go curb to curb in front of my house. Zzzz clack, Zzzzz clack, Zzzzz clack. All summer long. You know which town I'm in, right?"
"Yes. I'm 28."
I look at him, he looks at me. We both do the math.
He was one of the kids.

Not only am I old lady bitching about kids in my yard making noise but I'm chatting up a 28 year old and he's one of the kids! HOW F-ing OLD AM I?

My purse is loaded with hard candy and kleenex, is how OLD.

The bad out there

What makes me QUEASY about this airplane fatality is that she was sucked out the window. Her entire upper torso was sucked out the window. The tiny airplane window. Then other passengers managed to pull her back in. And do CPR. She later died. My lord, it is like a bad Stephen King movie. I /pray/ she was dead as soon as the window broke.

In other bad news, Michigan is about as far North as we get here and that racism BS dont stop at the Mason-Dixon line. Sadly.

the more lighthearted one hopes

What is your Latin scientific name? Your Wiley Coyote Latin name?

Farsickness. Fernweh. Germans have great words. Longing for a place you've never been. Green and mysterious places. Maybe a generation came from there. Open areas. Mental landscape grafted onto a real one. Would you go? Even if it were a disappointment?
From Atlas obscura.

*ponder* What if humans had never created religion? How would history have changed? I must suppose we would have had our wars over other things, resources mostly. Tribe against tribe. Star belly. *ponder* But would we have had Peace? Who would have been for Peace? The tired. Only the tired. We'd miss out on those who spoke for mankind, do you suppose?

I have been thinking about the short story "The Lottery" and what it is trying to tell us. Not simply asking what the author is trying to tell us. I hold that story dear because it is a conversation.

I paid my bills and got my taxes done. Yay. Now if I can wrangle my short term disability appeal...

Btw, i bought a quince fruit. Out of season & seems unlikelybi'll cook it. Darn.

Here, watch marble runs by very creative type. The vids are oddly satisfying. Different vids have different tricks too. Route 66
